Fishing and the Angler's Journal
Choose pond habitats, earn catch XP and record collections.
Choose a fishing spot
You can earn catches wherever Minecraft produces a valid catch. Aerborne adds no minimum pond size, depth or open-sky requirement. It does not force vanilla fish to bite in an otherwise unusable spot.
On islands, the bobber must be inside your own island or a joined co-op. Visitors cannot earn catches in someone else's island pond. In shared waters, the bobber's biome determines the habitat.
Set an island habitat
In /fishing, Pond Habitat changes the shared pond selection without changing terrain or biome. Favoured species are four times as likely; other species remain possible.
| Stage | Habitat |
|---|---|
| Settler | Freshwater |
| Workshop | River |
| Sanctuary | Wetland |
| Foundry | Ocean |
| Aetherworks | Cold Water |
Keep your catches
Turn fish in to Ivo to record collections and earn angling reputation. With default tuning, common/uncommon/rare/legendary catches give 25/37/65/145 Fishing XP, before applicable bonuses. Cancelled catches give no rewards.
Shared-zone streaks can attract creatures. Fishing does not summon encounter mobs onto private islands.
