Cooking and meals

Use /cooking, /cookbook or /kitchen to see meals, ingredients, Cooking requirements and a preview at your current quality. The catalog can expand; the in-game book is the current recipe list.

The cookbook does not produce food itself. Gather the listed ingredients and craft at a crafting table. Level-one recipes are available to beginners; higher meals require the displayed Cooking level.

Successful eligible food crafts award Cooking XP. Default ordinary food recipes give 12 XP; named meals can give more. Creative crafts and unsuccessful previews do not count as completed work.

Cooking level affects meal quality. Island Stewardship talents can improve Cooking XP and extend meals prepared there. Read the actual meal's description for its effects and duration; not every recipe has the same benefit.

Ordinary food and prepared named meals are not interchangeable ingredients. Keep special food out of unrelated vanilla recipes unless the recipe explicitly accepts it.
