Farming and replanting
Harvest mature crops, reserve planting items and avoid wasted work.
Harvest with a hoe
Right-click a ripe crop with a hoe to harvest and replant in one action. No sneak key or talent is required. One ordinary seed or planting item is reserved from the drops, or taken from your inventory if needed.
If no suitable planting item is available, the crop stays ripe. Named, enchanted and special seeds are not consumed. Torchflowers and pitcher crops need a spare ordinary seed or pod because their mature harvest does not return one.

XP values are before equipment, talents and server tuning. Immature crops and placed fruit/stalk blocks do not grant repeat rewards. A successful hoe harvest uses one durability; Preservation can help.
