Upgrade your first gear
Identify sealed equipment, add gems and review each change.
Reveal sealed gear
Visit Nyra, the identifier. Sealed gear hides its bonuses until identification. Review the Marks price before confirming. Identification reveals the item's existing roll; it does not reroll it.
Add a socket gem
- Right-click an anvil to open Forge & Sockets.
- Put identified equipment in the left input and a compatible gem in the right.
- Review the result, then choose Confirm Change.
The preview shows compatibility, available sockets and the bonus. Moving an input or waiting too long requires a fresh review. Remote /forge access needs a separate permission; visiting an anvil works without it.
Each socket takes certain gems: combat gems in weapons, defensive gems in armour, gathering gems in tools, and any gem in the Universal socket that legendary and better gear ends with. Two matching gems of the same grade merge into the next grade, from Rough up to Perfect. Gems can also be recovered for Arcane Dust. Keep inventory space when using or closing the forge.
